About ENZI Design
Enzi Design was born from a love for form, technology, and the creation of unique objects. Founder Klaas van der Veur designs lighting and interior objects where organic shapes, innovative production techniques, and a refined aesthetic converge.
After studying mechanical engineering, Klaas founded the production company Bitmove in 2001. For years, he and his team developed interactive installations and experiences for experience centers, brands, museums, events, and amusement parks. What he learned there — how to translate an idea into a tangible end product — still forms the basis of his work, though at ENZI, it takes on a much more personal form.
The birth of ENZI Design began with a fascination for 3D printing. This technology offered unprecedented design freedom and made it possible to create fluid, natural shapes that are hardly achievable with traditional production methods. What started as an experiment with lighting grew into its own design collection.
Nature plays a leading role in this. The movement of water, the power of wind, and the harmony of organic forms are a continuous source of inspiration. These influences are reflected in designs that exude tranquility, subtly capture light, and enrich a space without demanding attention.
Each design is carefully developed and produced locally. Not out of a desire to follow trends, but out of the conviction that good design should last for years. Timeless objects that tell a story and give every space warmth, character, and balance.
The name ENZI is Swahili and means both "era" and "authority" — a word that denotes a period in time, but also refers to authority and craftsmanship that has proven its worth. This dual meaning fits how Klaas designs: with the patience of someone who knows that true quality takes time, and the certainty of a craftsman who masters his craft. ENZI moves between different eras — lighting that makes time stand still for a moment. Timeless design, made for today.
